Overview

Kedarnath

Kedarnath: Nestled in the beautiful Mandakini  Valley and surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, the majestic Kedarnath Temple stands on a glacial terrace, a remnant of an ancient glacier that has long since melted away. This sacred land is considered the abode of Lord Shiva, and the entire region bears testimony to the many legends associated with Him.

The temple is believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas, the heroes of the Mahabharata, as an act of repentance and devotion after Lord Shiva forgave them for the sin of fratricide. According to legend, this forgiveness came only after an extraordinary chase through the Himalayas.

A pilgrimage to Kedarnath, one of the most revered among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva spread across India, is not merely a journey through breathtaking landscapes—it is an opportunity to relive ancient legends, experience deep spirituality, and feel a divine connection with God.

Badrinath

Badrinath: The sacred Badrinath Shrine is believed to be as ancient as time itself. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this revered temple was re-established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century as part of his mission to revive and strengthen Hinduism across India.

Situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River, the temple and the numerous ancient sites surrounding it make Badrinath one of the most significant pilgrimage destinations in the country.

The final 11 kilometers leading to Badrinath involve a steep ascent. As pilgrims reach Devdarshini, a breathtaking panorama of the entire Badrinath Valley unfolds before them—the township, the magnificent façade of the temple, and the twin peaks of Nar and Narayan standing majestically on either side. Above them rises the snow-clad Neelkanth Peak, shining like a celestial crown. At that moment, one cannot help but feel spiritually uplifted by the grandeur and divinity of this sacred landscape.
