Embark on a spiritually enriching journey through the sacred Himalayas with this 13-Day Char Dham Yatra, covering some of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Uttarakhand. The tour begins from Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham, and takes you through the scenic hill stations of Mussoorie, Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, and Rishikesh.

Experience the divine blessings of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—the four sacred shrines collectively known as the Char Dham. Along the way, visit important spiritual landmarks such as Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ardh Narishwar Temple, Narsingh Temple, and Hemkund Sahib, one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Sikhs. Day 1 Haridwar

 

Arrival & Transfer:

Pickup from Haridwar Airport or Railway Station and transfer to Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra.

Hotel Check-in:

Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

Spiritual Visit:

Take a holy bath in the sacred River Ganga and participate in the evening Ganga Aarti.

Overnight Stay:

Dinner and overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar – Mussoorie (210 km / 8–9 hrs)

 

Transfer:

Early morning after breakfast, depart from Haridwar and drive to Mussoorie.

Sightseeing:

Visit:

  • Mussoorie Lake
  • Kempty Falls
  • Local sightseeing attractions

Overnight Stay:

Overnight stay in Mussoorie.

Day 3: Mussoorie – Barkot (91.9 km / 3 hrs)

 

Transfer:

Drive to Barkot and proceed to the hotel.

Hotel Check-in:

Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

Evening:

The rest of the day is free to relax and conserve your energy for the Yamunotri Temple visit the following day.

Dinner and overnight stay in Barkot.

Barkot Weather:

Generally pleasant during summer, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C. During winter, the days remain pleasantly cool, while nights can be cold, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 5°C.

Day 4: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (36 km drive & 6 km trek one way)

Transfer:

Early morning, drive to Jankichatti / Phoolchatti.

Trek & Spiritual Visit:

The 6 km trek to Yamunotri begins from here and can be completed on foot, by horse, or by doli at your own cost.

The trek passes through lush green valleys, conifer forests, rhododendrons, cacti, and various Himalayan shrubs.

Upon arrival at Yamunotri:

  • Offer prayers at Divya Shila.
  • Take a holy bath in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund.
  • Have darshan of Yamunaji.

Transfer:

Return to Barkot after darshan.

Overnight Stay:

Overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 5: Barkot – Uttarkashi (80 km / 2 hrs)

Transfer:

After breakfast, proceed towards Uttarkashi.

Hotel Check-in:

Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

Spiritual Visit:

Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

About Uttarkashi:

Uttarkashi is an ancient place with rich cultural heritage. As the name suggests, it is the "Kashi of the North" (Uttara), held in almost the same reverence as Kashi (Varanasi). Both are situated on the banks of the sacred Ganga River.

The sacred area of Uttarkashi lies between the rivers Syalam Gad (Varuna) and Kaligad (Asi), similar to Varanasi, which lies between the rivers Varuna and Asi. One of the holiest ghats in Uttarkashi is Manikarnika, sharing its name with the famous ghat in Varanasi.

Uttarkashi is home to numerous temples and ashrams.

Day 6: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km / 2 hrs)

 

Transfer:

Early morning (packed breakfast), drive to Gangotri.

Spiritual Visit & Sightseeing:

En route, take a holy dip at Garam Kund in Gangnani and continue through the beautiful Harsil Valley.

About Harsil:

Harsil is famous for its natural beauty and majestic views of deodar trees and mountains.

Upon arrival at Shri Gangotri:

  • Take a holy dip in the sacred River Ganga (Bhagirathi at its origin).
  • Perform puja and darshan.
  • Spend some peaceful time amidst the serene surroundings.

Transfer:

Drive back to Uttarkashi.

Gangotri Temple:

The temple was constructed by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th century and is situated on the right bank of the Bhagirathi River.

Day 7: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (200 km / 7 hrs)

Transfer:

After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh and Lambgaon.

Sightseeing:

En route, enjoy views of the beautiful Mandakini River at Tilwara. The Mandakini River originates from Kedarnath.

Spiritual Visit:

Visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple.

About Guptkashi:

According to mythology, when the Pandava brothers were searching for Lord Shiva, he first concealed himself at Guptkashi before moving further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas were finally blessed with his darshan.

Pleasant during summer, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C. Cold during winter.

Day 8: Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Guptkashi

Transfer:

After breakfast, depart for Kedarnath Dham. The vehicle will drop you at the helipad, from where you will take a helicopter to Kedarnath.

Alternative Trek Route:

From Gaurikund, the trek to Kedarnath begins. It can be completed on foot, by horse, or by doli at your own cost.

Spiritual Visit:

Enjoy Kedarnath Darshan and visit the temple.

About Kedarnath

Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is situated against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayan ranges. According to legend, after the Kurukshetra War, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's blessings for redemption. Lord Shiva assumed the form of a bull and disappeared into the ground, leaving behind his hump, which is worshipped at Kedarnath.

Kedarnath Weather:

Due to its high altitude, Kedarnath remains cold for most of the year. Summers are cool and pleasant, while winters are extremely severe. During summer, temperatures remain around 10°C. Warm woollen clothing is essential throughout the year.

Transfer:

Return to Guptkashi after darshan.

Day 9: Guptkashi – Badrinath

Transfer:

After breakfast, drive towards Joshimath.

Spiritual Visit:

Visit Narsingh Temple.

Transfer:

Continue towards Badrinath after darshan.

Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

Spiritual Visit:

Pilgrims take a holy bath in Tapt Kund before having darshan of Lord Badrivishal and attending the evening Aarti.

Mana Village:

Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, Mana is the last Indian village before the Tibet border.

Vasudhara Falls:

Located approximately 5 km from Badrinath, Vasudhara Falls is a magnificent waterfall. Out of this distance, 2 km is motorable up to Mana Village.

Bhim Pul:

Situated beyond Mana Village, Bhim Pul is a massive rock bridge over the roaring Saraswati River. According to legend, it was placed there by Bhima, the second eldest of the Pandava brothers.

Vyas Gufa:

Located near Mana Village, this cave is believed to be the place where Maharishi Ved Vyas composed the Mahabharata and the Puranic commentaries.

Badrinath Weather:

The average maximum temperature is around 18°C, while the minimum is around 8°C. Warm woollen clothing is recommended throughout the year. Winters are extremely cold with heavy snowfall, and the temple remains closed during this period.

Day 10: Badrinath – Hem Kund Sahib

Transfer:

After breakfast, proceed towards Hemkund Sahib. The vehicle will drop you at Govindghat.

Trek:

From Govindghat, trek approximately 6 km towards Hemkund Sahib. Ponies are available for hire.

Spiritual Visit:

Hemkund Sahib is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Sikhs. Upon reaching, take a holy dip in the sacred lake and receive the blessed Kada Prasad.

Transfer:

In the afternoon, descend towards Ghangaria.

Evening:

Spend the evening exploring the surroundings and enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty.

Overnight Stay:

Overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 11: Valley of Flowers

Sightseeing:

Explore the Valley of Flowers, renowned worldwide for its rich flora and fauna.

Trek:

The trek is approximately 3 km long. The trail descends towards the river, crosses a bridge, and then involves a gradual climb of about 1.5 km to the valley entrance.

Experience:

Enjoy the spectacular landscape, colorful flowers, and serene atmosphere. Capture memorable photographs and spend peaceful moments amidst nature.

Overnight Stay:

Return to Ghangaria for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Hemkund Sahib – Rishikesh (273 km / 8 hrs)

Transfer:

After breakfast, descend from Ghangaria to Govindghat and proceed by road towards Rishikesh.

Hotel Check-in:

Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

Evening:

Spend the evening at leisure exploring the spiritual atmosphere of Rishikesh.

Overnight Stay:

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Rishikesh – Haridwar (20.6 km / 31 mins)

 

Transfer:

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Haridwar.

Departure:

Drop at your preferred location for your onward journey.
